Wireless keyboard and mouse combos are continually to grow in popularity. They’re perfect for typing while you are sitting back and relaxing, keeping pets from getting tangled in the wires, and keeping an overal clean look on your desk. However, sometimes your keyboard will just not work, whether you’re hooking it up to another computer or even simply changing the batteries. The following is a troubleshooting guide to aide you in getting your wireless/keyboard mouse combo functioning properly again.
1. Follow the instructions provided in your user manual for connecting the keyboard and mouse to the wireless sensor. If reconnecting does not work, go on to the next step.
2. Check to make sure the batteries are not dead. While this may seem like the most basic thing to check, it can also be overlooked. Some wireless sensors can even tell you when the battery is dying or dead. If the batteries are dead, install a fresh set of batteries and reconnect the keyboard and mouse.
3. Check the drivers for possible updates. Although not often a common problem, you should have Windows Device Manager check for it automatically or check the manufacturer’s website yourself.
4. Uninstall the drivers, unplug the wireless sensor, and restart your computer. Once your computer is fully booted, plus the wireless sensor back in and allow Windows to recognize the device. Sometimes a fresh install of the drivers will allow the keyboard/mouse combo to work again.
5. Battery Conductor Nodes. Look on the inside of the battery compartment, specifically at the positive/negative node springs, whichever is easier to access. If the spring is compressed, it means the springs are not receiving the electric charge from the battery to power it. Therefore, the spring needs to be uncompressed. Take a small screwdriver and carefully pop the spring out a little bit. Reinstall the batteries.
These are very basic things to check before assuming that your keyboard/mouse is completely dead. If your keyboard/mouse combo continues to cease functioning, consult your owner’s manual for further specific troubleshooting.
The next highly anticipated release of Ubuntu will be official is scheduled for release in April this year, the release will be codenamed Jaunty Jackalope. I managed to get the Alpha release of the OS last week and I am impressed so far, there are many improvements and additions to the OS, however for me the most interesting for me is the new notifications feature.
The feature displays activity from music software, IRC clients and IM applications on your desktop. You can customize the notifications position and theme via the System menu.
This really is another step in the right direction for Ubuntu, as the eye-candy availiable is becoming a wide-ranged field of desktop effects which are really tasty!

The pretty much wraps up this post, be sure to look out for the official release in April!
This post is long due and today I decided to take the time to explain why iPocalypse IRC differs from any other IRC network on the internet.
Recently I have had the opportunity to meet so many different people all over the iPoc network that have not only helped me change BluePhoenix.TV but become a better person as well. See iPoc IRC is different because most everyone on the network does not care about status do not care if they are sop, aop, hop or vop. They are that they are part of a great community and family of friends.
I have been using iPocalypse IRC for about 4 months now and I am still amazed on how friendly everyone is. You can join an channel and be greeted not only my the members of said channel but also the staff that makes it possible for the hundreds of people to communicate across the globe (the iPoc staff). I am so pleased to know that the staff care about ever person on the network and will do anything to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
I hope to see this network grow into something unique and special on the internet and I would like to invite anyone who is not already a member to join us.
Server : irc.iPocalypse.net
Great Channels to join : #geekologist, #ipocalypse, #das, #help, #dan, #coheed, #chris, and #nuke.
From everyone here at BluePhoenix.TV I would like to thank you iPocalypse IRC for your time, patience and hard work.
Sorry to all you Windows Mobile fans but if you have had a bad day then what I am about to tell you is going to make it slightly worse. According to tips given to CNET by Microsoft the release date of windows mobile 7 has been pushed back once again.
This defiantly spells disaster for the Windows Mobile platform. With the android platform finally out and the iPhone taking most of the market windows mobile is really going to have to kick it into gear to compete.
Among some of the features that are highly expected to be part of the release is advanced gesture recognition, using technology similar to the iPhone and possibly using the camera as means for reading gestures. Better speech input and enhanced active sync features are also expected for this new version of the windows mobile software.
With Windows Mobile 6.1 just hitting the streets I think Microsoft is really going to have to rethink the Mobile platform and bring something more than just enhanced features. I wish I have more on this topic but seeing as Microsoft has said little to nothing about Windows Mobile 7 I am left with little to tell.
I know this is a little off the normal mobile phone theme but I though it would be a good idea to show some of you linux fans how to use a really cool utility that is build into all Ubuntu installs. The program is callled apt-get or also known as aptitude. It is a package management system that allows you to install and remove programs from the aptitude database with ease.
Some of the more common commands for apt-get are as follows
apt-get install “program name here”
apt-get remove “program name here”
apt-get update (this basically updates the program library on your linux box)
If you have anymore questions you can email me at Support@bluephoenix.tv or you can just comment on this blog and I will be sure to get back with you.
SO AT&T has some really cool phones that are going to make AT&T an even better choice for all the consumers out in the world looking to get a new cell.
One of the more notable devices coming to AT&T’s line up is the HTC Fuze. This is the “replacement” phone for the AT&T Tilt and not only that has features that kick any other smart phone in the rear end.
Bellow are the launch dates for future AT&T devices:
Notice: The date’s above have not been confirmed but we highly suspect that the are close to the actual launch date’s.
So many people say that it is impossible to watch youtube videos on a windows mobile phone easily. This is absolutely not true. vTap is a great application that allows you to search and view Youtube videos all in the vTap application. Not only does it give you the ability to watch the videos but if you create a vTap account you can save favorites and come back anytime and see the latest videos from that youtube account.
Some of the things that I can see vTap improving on is the ability to log directly into your youtube account. Allowing a user to do this would give them access to their subscriptions so that they may view and search through the subscriptions just as they would on their computer.
The application is built for windows mobile 5 and 6 touch screen devices and iphones only. So sorry to all you Moto Q fans this is not the application for you. If you would like to download vTap just click the link >>>> http://www.vtap.com/wm.html
Video to be posted soon.
So today I got a great opprotunity to interview some awesome people. Eric and Simon are two out of three executives for irc.ipocalypse.net. Ipocalypse is a growing chat community that strives on a great user experience. If you are interested in learning more just head over to http://ipocalypse.net Check out the video of the interview.
The apple O/S has tons of great software anything from video and photo editing to basic email and IM’s. This video is going to show you my most favored Mac applications and a simple tutorial on how they work! Hope you enjoy!
